The local place stipped mine and they also put the wrong filter on. I got two blocks, it blew out all the oil. I went to a local gas station and refilled the oil and limped across the street to tell them. They said there was something wrong with my engine. They double checked the filter, put a different one on and still said there was something wrong with my engine. I drove it for years after that no problem.

I DO ALL MY OWN WORK NOW.

Actually...all of the cars I've owned except the Vanagon and my Bus have been taken to quick oil change places for oil changes, and none of them have ever suffered a stripped drain plug. Jiffy Lube isn't a chain here, though, I've usually gone to Quaker State or Uncle Ed's.
