There's an odd sprinkling of the things here in Richmond, Virginia, as well. There are some Westies, a few hardtop Syncros, mostly 7-passenger 2WD vans (some quite beat) and a couple of weeks ago I spotted a silver Syncro Adventurewagen that was probably just passing through. A couple of guys have pairs of Westies and I have my eye on a parked-for-a-while-now Syncro. Interestingly, Richmond figures prominently in three web-chronicled Vanagon adventures that I know of: www.findtao.com <www.findtao.com> is about a year-long U.S trip originating here; www.leafpile.com <www.leafpile.com> is a European trip still in progress that started here; www.travelinvan.com <www.travelinvan.com> featured Richmond as the location for the van's engine rebuild saga. All are good reading.
