Saw this on a VW message board, and while I would have liked to spend many thousands of dollars on a 2.0l Type IV motor, it looks like that check won't be made out to Jake Raby for his much-lauded engines. AVP and Boston Bob ... the pickings get slimmer. To put this in context, it was in answer to a thread asking why Vanagons are so underpowered. Here ya go, don't shoot the messenger:
