Hello- Recieved my SurePower Isolator in the mail today... a 1202R for Bosch alternator, and it included VW Vanagon specific instructions. This is as expected. However, the unit itself is quite a bit larger than the photos I have seen of other installs, and the terminals are laid out a little different on the top. They are labelled, so its not a problem. I am wondering, however, if anyone else has used this "new" model, and where the best mounting location is. Will it still fit near the light, as in Harald and Nancy's installation? Under the seat with the battery is tempting, but the instructions do say "as close to the alternator as possible". I believe in the "Vanagon for all seasons", the owner had it under the back seat, which is also a tempting location. Anyone installed one of these newer units? Thanks- Rob |
