You mean I should not have expected to be able to drive from NY to Florida and back turning 215K during the return trip? Both my Syncros are currently daily drivers and they sometimes back up the wife's Audi. And that 215K is on the original engine including the head gaskets. The sad part is that a Chevy van with a V8 can get the same 16-18 mpg on the highway that we get on the Vanagons. Oh, and don't forget the VW 4-5% odometer error. Dennis --------------------- Clip ---------------------- VW Busses, Vanagons are special interest vehicles. I just don't see everybody on the list using their Vanagons as exclusive daily drivers. If anyone expects a 80-91 Vehicle to remain dependable under heavy daily use they better be thinking twice. I ran 180K in ten years on mine and I consider that a lot. I ran about the same mileage on my other vehicle too. Stan Wilder |
