I've done almost this exact mod, except my 4" speakers up high are just cheapo pioneer units, and the 6.5's down low are coaxial infinities. At the time i was happy with the 4"s, but now i can tell that they can get pretty shrill in some instances.

>The 4" speakers have a passive filter (just a cap) on them - didn't really notice much of any difference. I bent the handles slightly to clear. >The 6.5" speakers fit in the bottom of the door panel (just barely) with no sheetmetal cutting. It was a close fit. The map pocket did have to be clearanced around the speaker, but i don't notice that in practice. >The 10" sub in back adds some oomph.

The best bang for the buck is the 6.5" down low. It really adds to the richness of the sound - especially if you are not an audiophile. A big ol' sub is just showing off :-)

I really do enjoy the way my van sounds now, but there is only so much *bump bump* that i can take from that sub, so if i were to do it again, i'd probably be happy not having it in there...

Hope that sheds some light, -Damon
