You all need to understand that the major oil companies sell their crude oil
to the refineries. The refineries sell their gasoline, diesel, heating oil,
etc. to the open market. That is why they call those products commodities.
BP stations in Ohio and other areas sell Amoco gasoline made by the nearest
oil refinery (brand name doesn't matter) to the stations to minimize freight
costs. The waters are very muddy. Who owns what and who sells what? No
matter what you do, Exxon, Mobil, and BP win since they control the crude
oil that goes into these stations as fuel. The only people hurt by
boycotting certain stations are the poor slobs who work in and or
own/operate those stations. The crude oil producers could care less. The
demand will shift to one of their other distributors sight unseen by you and
I. Crude oil is a drug that we have been taking all our lives. The only
way to cut the habit is to go on rehab. Fuel Cell (electric) vehicles
(aka-hydrogen power), direct hydrogen fuel combustion, biodiesel which is a
byproduct of the restaurant industry, and so forth. The habit will die
hard. Are you ready to break the habit?
