You can also get a better look at the "backside" of the slider/cables by pulling off the fan switch knob on the right end of the black plastic panel the sliders slide in, then move all the sliders to the left, then carefully pry the plastic panel off, toward you. I use a flat blade screw driver and pry on the top, bottom, and end where the fan switch knob was. That just gives you a little better view in there. The left end of that plastic panel comes off too but you can't do much with it due to the sliders being over there. Careful about pulling the plastic slider control ends off, they can break but do come off. I've used pliers but you want to grab the plastic where the metal slider behind the black plastic panel is, not near the end of the black knobs. blowing some spray silicone lube into the cables where the wires go in may help with their slideability too.

The control cables tend to bend and distort if they have too much resistance. The adjustments are often critical to get the right combination. You should be able to see bent / damaged cables down through the ashtray opening or down through the instrument area after the cover is removed. The adjustments are on both the slider control and on the air flow control box under your dash. You'll need to remove the glove box to get to some of the cable adjustments.

Hey, The slider switch for my heat control seems to be stuck. I can slide it to one end and the other, but it pops back to the middle. Any ideas what i can do to loosen it up? How do I get in there?
