Definitely true, at least on the east coast - I don't know about surf spots,
the mid-Atlantic and north definitely don't quality.  I just bought my '89
with 130K on original engine for 10K, and I had to put more into it to get
it to pass the emissions test, etc. I wanted to look at one that sounded
good that was advertised at around 9K, but it was sold in three days before
I could get to it.  I drew the line at ones advertised over $12K, but they
were definitely out there.  There aren't a lot of them around here.  If you
look at prices on e-bay and Westfalia.com they are definitely high.

It's that supply and demand thing, just like gasoline.  But I won't say more
on the price of gasoline till Friday!
