I replaced the passenger side window regulator about a year ago and it
failed last week.  I think the part is poorly designed.  Haven't replaced
it yet, but I would guess it's the rivet that holds the plastic cable guide
onto the metal frame (as was last time).  Bought 2 new regulators and will
replace soon, and then see about fixing the old one more betterer - maybe
using a bolt.

Part of the problem might be keeping the moving parts greased so they don't
wear out, cock sideways and start jamming the works up.

Has anyone had experience rebuilding this part or finding a replacement
part (under $10 bucks) and not purchasing the entire 2 cable system and
glide $$$ ?  Are the same mechanisms used on the 89 - 92 Jetta Carats?  I'm
