in stop-and-go traffic in san fran, i'm lucky to get 12 mpg. on freeway, especially if reasonably flat, get around 21 mpg. these babies really suck-it-up in 1st, 2nd & third gears, and you spend a lot of time there in stop-and-go city driving -- i rarely get into 4th gear, for that matter. i've come to believe that the above mpg figures are about normal for these lovable frankish sumos. art, '82 westy (ex '68 breadloaf)
