In my case it was 3-strikes:
1/ misdiagnosed a broken bellhousing (starter twisting upon start and
sounded like a poor battery), so sold me a $100 battery.
2/ put the new bellhousing in and left off the magnets driving the cruise,
then accused me of them never being there in the first place.
3/ stood me up for an appointment HE MADE WITH ME. I waited for 1 hour after
the appointment time and that was the last time I saw/heard from/anything
... him. He's a recommended shop for Salt Lake on the Vanagon.com list for
vanagon work and TIICO installation. No way in my book. I now have that
peaceful, "I'll get what I pay for and when" feeling in my gut rather than
that "I'm screwed and trapped" one.
In other words, I worked with him until it became obvious.....1st time shame
on you, 2nd time shame on me. No more "permission" on my part.
