Hi all 1st of all i need to know what the goods and bads are for a 78 westi? motor size what to look for etc. i may have one lined up to look at this coming week. so im going to have to put my 85 Vanagon Westi up for sale. here is the poop if you want to know. ive owned it for approx little over a year. i have gone through it mechanically. ive replaced or rebuilt all of its quirks. i have enough spare parts to build a 2nd vanagon.

the goods: runs and drives like a caddy motor very strong 98% rust free no major accidents some minor scartch and dent type stuff interior is clean and rip free curtains and privicies are all there have accessory single middle seat spare everything. from Radiator to tail pipe new OX sensor, exhaust header, muffler, intake seals, air filter tune up stuff. raised the rear end from sagging, new cv joint boots and speedo cable new master cylinder and brakes all bled. A/C works perfect

the bads: unknown miles could be anything from 96k to 180k just dont know speedo was replaced before i got it and i replaced the whole cluster to get the clock to work screen in upper bunk tent is not that good privacy is. small tear in very back that has been fixed. ive never taken the time to fill the propane and check all the camping gear out. i.e.stove and fridge engine leaks a small amount of antifreeze near the cross over pipe. near the water pump i have the seal but not the time it doesnt leak all the time and just a few drops not enough to need to fill over flow tank small oil leak that is intermittent. but never enough to need to top off. some seam rust on driver side.

spare parts : just the big stuff Radiator and fan all hoses and expansion tanks, water pump etc. complete dissassembled machined/balanced engine with full rebuild kit and full set of bearings and 2 sets of heads complete fuel injection set up with 2 computers and all wiring and sensors fuel pump and fuel tank with sender spare set of front seats 5 spare tires and rims spare transmission with starter compete brake system and booster spare dash and door panels spare bumpers and brakets and lenses. sliding door rear hatch and front doors spare steering column and piles of misc. goodies, front windshield and wiper motors and arms. spare power steering pump and steering rack. spare altenator lot of stuff eh??

if you want just the westi with no frills just drive it away 4500 and your out camping if you want 2 k worth of parts plus make it 5200.00 and bring a spare truck to take it all with you if you have a 76-79 westi to trade then let me know must be a 4 speed and in equal condition (no rust or repainted bondo buckets) i can put it on the lift for you to look at on the bottom side. this vanagon has been estimated by other vanagon/vw persons at about 5k to 6500. im not looking to score huge money on this vanagon. i just want someone to take care of it and enjoy it to the fullest i live in Saline Michigan south of Ann Arbor

thanks Jonce e-mail me if you need more info
