At the risk of sending you off in the wrong direction, I have heard that the ECU ignores the input from the sensors for the first few minutes when turned the engine is turned on. I have also heard that the engine will run in 'default' mode if the sensors are unpluged. I do NOT know this for sure, so you should check the archives or ask 'experts'. Forgive me if I smile a bit here. There is a parallel discussion going on here about EFI versus Carbs. Warren's problems here is a classic case of the "EFI blues".
