ok... I have found infinite wisdom on the list, many of the problems/updates I have encountered have been solved time and time again, and a majority of people would agree with said course of action. That said, lets talk exhaust... My 84 Westfalia, which, I have no intention of parting with in this lifetime requires a new exhaust system. I have replaced the stock muffler with a lifetime warranty one from Bow-wow. (BC Canada) I have been looking on the archives, and this leads me to my current state of confusion: -Do I bite the bullet and pay for the stainless steel Stebro exhaust for the BIG $ with lifetime warrenty? ( At 3X cost) -Do I do the Bow-Wow replacment _Do I order stock components from the states with favorable currency at the moment.(volks cafe et al) ahhh... -$ -S$S headers, then we get into the ceramic coating or not. Many people seam to have had problems with instalation/mounting. Reliability/lifespan? -VW OEM -Dansk(?) -Something new exciting and cost effective i know nothing about...?? I don't expect performance gains... Its a vw van. Longevity is more important to me. But I doubt I will recoupe cost of stainless steel over my life time. Do I go through 3 complete systems in a life(?) I don't know. O ya emissions are not a concern here. I can't be the first person to go through this. Usually when I am in doubt the list will show me the way... Anybody with long term positive experience with trouble free system please, show me the light... -dj 84 Westfalia BC Canada |
