Hi there, I've driven pop-top campers for years. If the top is battened down correctly there should be no more noise than a regular steel roof. If not then you may hear the roof shifting when a crosswind hits it. I was quite surprised the first time I drove a "normal" bus in the rain... the racket that the raindrops make on steel is a lot louder than when they hit the fiberglass. If you spend much time inside the bus you will find the pop-top a godsend for your spine. Definitely highly recommended. If you haven't driven one, you should be sure to get it up to highway speed before you buy. If the roof is noisy, then have a close look at the hinges and latches and make sure there isn't something wrong with it.
