I have a 84 Wetsfalia with the ORIGINAL undercoating. It's in great shape ( RUST FREE ) and I was thinking about covering over it with an off the shelf undercoat product. My local VW mechanic from Da old country was strongly against using any type of undercoat. He said that the undercoating ( in some cases ) accelerate the rust. He suggested cleanimg the rust spots off with a wire brush and using TREMCLAD paint. Any suggestions??? Scott 84 Westfalia w/ 86 2.1L WBX |
