An addendum result of this mod: the shifter boot is raised almost 2" at its top, but the bottom still needs to tuck under the carpet. This stretches the accordian-like flex feature of the boot to its max, stressing the attachment under the carpet. Mine comes out at the front periodically because of this. I just tuck it back in. A little like the floppy armrests. I tightened all of them 7/02 and recently had to redo the drivers left one (it gets the most use/change). Although blue lock tite is good, these still seem to need maint. This time I put a touch of Mobil 1 syn in the joint and that really made a big difference in how smooth it works. Not enuf to create grease, just a dab. Bob Stevens P.S.: the making of a new thread :) _________________________________________________________________ Store more e-mails with MSN Hotmail Extra Storage – 4 plans to choose from! http://click.atdmt.com/AVE/go/onm00200362ave/direct/01/ |
