I too am over 6' (albeit just) so I can also chime in here...

You will not need the extension. It makes the top of the gear lever too high.Forget about it.

...and to chime in on a few other recent questions...

The short-shift kit is well worth the cost.Stops your knuckles hitting the radio when changing into 1st & 3rd in a 4 speed and 2nd and 4th in a 5 speed. Makes changing gears a far more pleasurable experience as a result of the shorter throw between gears.Makes for quicker changes too.

Installation is a quick and easy job.It is really just a spacer thingy you install under the base of your gear lever. From memory it took about 10 mins....and that was taking it slow since my van was only a few weeks old when I did the mod.

Go for it guys,I don't believe you'll regret it. Cheers, Steve O NSW Australia '92 Transporter WBX Kombi '00 Transporter Double Cab '03 Transporter Double Cab (work truck) '78 Landrover Series 3 (Ex Aust Army)
