Once you cut the coolant pipe you'll know the diameter. Anyway, I THINK it is 32 mm (approximately 1 1/4"). One thing to keep in mind: a metal bushing is inserted into the ends of the plastic coolant lines where the rubber hoses attach. I don't know how this will effect your planned repair, but I do know that whenever a joint in plastic tubing is made with a compression fitting a metal bushing is required.
