Still have the issue of getting the air out of the bowl / aux tank. This is why I was thinking of a 1L capacity which is more than the motor will use in a few minutes so that if you were 'sucking air' for a minute there would still be air-free fuel going to the motor.

How about a line leading out each end of the tan into that "bowl"? then one line to pump.
