I measured the shifter throw pre-kit and post kit w/extension, and it is nearly the same. I like having the shifter handle up high, especially when I use the armrests. I got in my old bus the other day and couldn't find the shifter :>), it took a while to get used to having the shifter so low.

For all of you looking to add the kit, make sure you inspect all of the linkage and replace any worn parts before installing the kit. It won't fix any problems, it will amplify them.
