Hi All,

We all agree that this is a pain. I question the VW dealers service department. To do it correctly you need to crack the vent valve on the aux heater core which means removing the bench seat and the cover. Something inside me says that they don't do this procedure. Why, because the system will blow the air out??? Or will it?

Not prudent, but necessary to vent all the air from the system. The 4 air vents (rear heater core, radiator, 2 self installed) I use are opened in order from the lowest to the highest until each flows a stream of coolant.

I think you might be confused about what I do to vent the air from the system. What I do is best described as the standard bleeding method with enhancements.
