Check out last month's car and driver, near the front, there's a review of a book on Formula 1 technology. In the article about the book, it's mentioned that because of aerodynamic downforce crreated by the body and winds, when a Formula 1 driver lets off the accelerator, the decellerative g-forces are greater than when a NASCAR driver slams on the brakes..

So vanagons have something in common with F1 cars...
