Yes and no!  I do not mean to be cryptic here but the rear heater 'sits' in the heating system in
parallel, between the In/out lines that feed the front heater core. If you have a Bentley... look at
the heater diagram to get a picture of the system. If the lines were reversed, there may be some
difficulty with bleeding all the air out after re-installing the heater into the system??

My concern is I want the rear heater core to be completely cold when I shut it off in the summer.

Some on this list, swear-by keeping the rear heater shut-off valve, slightly 'cracked' during the
summer.... keeps fresh coolant circulating  there-by keeping corrosion in-check.  The rear heater
cores have a rather high incidence of leaking and this may have a beneficial effect in slowing down
this occurrence of core leakage?

My recollection of unhooking mine a few years ago says: The lines from the rear-heater to the
main feed/return lines are slightly different in length SO, which is which may make itself known
when you look at it?? I realize there are many different iterations of rear-heaters in our Vans. Pass,
Camper and Syncro; each has different feed/return lines to the rear-heater.
