At the risk of sending you off in the wrong direction, I have heard that the ECU ignores the input from the sensors for the first few minutes when turned the engine is turned on. I have also heard that the engine will run in 'default' mode if the sensors are unpluged. I do NOT know this for sure, so you should check the archives or ask 'experts'.

Forgive me if I smile a bit here. There is a parallel discussion going on here about EFI versus Carbs. Warren's problems here is a classic case of the "EFI blues". Carbs rarely fail like this, and if they do, one can often SEE the problem, clean the oriface and get back on the road. Malcolm with a 91 carb'ed van
