Hi Ric,

We take out husky/mutt with us all the time in the van and it is great!. I would take a long leash (say 15 feet) that you can anchor to the van so Fido can be outside (a dog jumping around makes the van a bit small at times), and be prepared for the front curtain to be half down by morning, and fur everywhere!

One of the best things about the Westy is the built-in dog area in the very back. We put a blanket down on the lower mattress (with the seat up) and the dog can be there while moving and be safe in the event of an accident/incident.

Have fun! ...JMM
