Hello- Trying to access previous-owner installed stereo. I want to plug into its preamp rca jacks. I can get a good look if I remove the ashtray, but cant see any way to get the unit out; must be bolted from the bottom. Am I correct in my terrible assumption that the whole dash must come out? I don't mind the blood, sweat, and tears, but the manual shows the steering column must be lowered, by drilling out a shear bolt. I don't have any experience here, can someone fill me in on the process? Sounds like I probably need an experts help, but seems absurd just for some stereo wiring... It seems like it might be possible to access from the "trim" piece which is under the heater/ac controls, above the stick shift. But the screws that hold that one in, they are under the main dash unit? Thanks |
