Thanks for the Hall sender info. You're right,
the digijet section of Bentley gives the
precautions that the digifant section does not,
and I've violated several of those rules.
However, if I can scrape together the money,
I'm going to replace my distributor with a new
one and hopefully eliminate that problem (if
in fact that is part of it). My objective is
to replace every component that sends information
to the ECU. From what I've learned from the list,
the ECU can only work with the information it
gets, i.e., it can't make chicken soup out of
chicken poop.
Right now I've got the starter out, so it will
be a few days before I can get Bill running
again.
The covering of the large wire running to my
starter is cracked and brittle. Any tips
on replacing this? It comes out of a large
bundle of wires, probably from the battery.
Thanks again, and be safe out there.
