I wouldn't say that it is over yet. I saw a site once where a guy made a
set of DIY rear spring spacers out of a $5 synthetic cutting board. And
from the pictures that were in the GB install sheet, I bet one could easily
take a jigsaw and cut out a spacer just like the Berg unit...who needs
billet aluminum and CNC machines. then have a local machine shop make a
little adapter for the bottom of the shaft and boom, you have shorter
shifts. The simplicity of this product compared to its retail price tells
me that either Berg has an archaic cost acounting system that allows them to
over-allocate costs to their low-volume products, or that it is an extremely
high profit margin item, and they are just too lazy to work with us. Now,
the mod might be worth $100, but if it can be produced for <$25, you won't
catch me paying retail. Just my $0.02.
