2nd the motion for Pegasus here. I run version 3.1 under W98SE although there are later versions available. If set up right, it's relatively immune from viruses but you still have to be careful, of course. Probably saved me more than once. The user base is far too small to attract any attention from the script kiddies. I have a virus sitting in my mailbox right now which I want to look at more carefully when I have time. It can't do any harm unless I do something dumb. Pegasus (this version) doesn't give you anything fancy like Outlook, though. //Jack Priority: normal Date sent: Sat, 13 Mar 2004 19:03:54 -0600 Send reply to: tom ring <taring@TARING.ORG> From: tom ring <taring@TARING.ORG> Organization: Tippen Ringware Subject: Re: Mail Dump To: vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM > Well, it's not simple to save from the GUI, but I've been running Peagsus > mail for over 10 years, including numerous upgrades, and I have never lost a > single email. > > I do save my mail by simply copying the maildir to another drive every few > days.
