I finally isolated the problem on Billy Bones to the AFM. No matter which bus I put it on, it revs then dies right away. So, I opened it up. Back when I cleaned it with solvent, I was unaware that it had gotten into the center of the thing. Well, there was liquid and some corrosion under the lid. I sprayed the entire thing with WD40 to get rid of the cleaning solvent, and then drained it and swabbed it out with lots of Q-tips. Tomorrow I'm going to NAPA to get some of that QD Electronic Cleaner and give it a good spraying. I'll let it air out and reassemble it and hope for the best. Any tips at this point? What's the best way to reseal the unit? Thanks, Warren Lail 88 Westy "Billy Bones" 87 GL "Long John" |
