VW has a love for hoses which have different diameters on opposite ends. An example would be the hoses attached to the oil cooler on the 2.1 engines. It requires considerable creativity to assemble a substitute in the field for one of those hoses should one rupture while one is on the road. And those little hoses are in places which require a contortionist to replace. Others are more easily replaced with items available at local parts houses. These factors should be weighed when considering which hoses to replace and when is the most convenient time for them to be replaced. Try to schedule the most difficult jobs when you have access to spares and a reasonably comfortable place to work. Rico Dagastino Memphis, TN |
