The dog under the feet while driving sounds a little unsafe but other than that a great story. My dogs love to travel in mine as well. Both of them are also are medium sized and are magnets for the preschoolers. If I have some Milkbones on hand I let the kids feed the doggies if mom is OK with it. Buddy, a cocker, boxer, whoknowswhat mix loves to sit right by me on my Toyota pickup bench seat and place one paw on my leg while looking out the window. That may be a little unsafe too but great for bonding on weekends. They just love to go for day trips and live for camping trips. Appreciate the tips about bears and coyotes - a former co-worker in San Diego lost his beloved dog in the canyons while walking the dog off the leash. A lone coyote led the dog into a blind spot and the dog was attacked and killed by the pack before the owner could chase the varmints away. Anyway, good to hear tales of fun times with our pets. We all need reminders of why we take the trouble to keep these near vintage vehicles running. Bill, Buddy, Annie Soon to be departed 83.5 Westy
<<He loves going with us to all the VW events, I think because of all the attention he gets from the 5 & under crowd <<G>>. He is just the right size, and doesn't scare the kids as some of the larger dogs do, and he loves giving kisses. Of course, the kids really have to watch out when they have ice cream, as he loves ice cream just as much.>> |
