And then there's the Touaran to go along with Touareg, which I guess is the
replacement for the Ford/VW joint venture minivan that was the VW Sharan and
the Ford Galaxie (in Europe, mind you... I don't think the Touran, now and
all-VW design, is coming to this side of the pond).
Personally, I always felt a bit ludricous about the name of my VW Dasher. A
friend went to Ireland shortly after I got it and scoured the VW dealers
there for a a "Passat LD" badge (the car was an '81 diesel wagon). I had to
settle for a "Passat L."
I have a "Transporter" badge on my '85 Vanagon GL (also not a name I was
terribly fond of).
