Years ago when I was in Alaska , I bought the HotVW's copy  when these
plans came out. I still have it. I was intrigued by the possibilities.
Still am. I had a motorcycle to build the threewheel car but let it get
away from me. But for sure I always was interested in the "Phoenix".
With Vanagon prices doing what they are, the V-gon could become the
basis for a new "Phoenix". I'm looking into that. One could pick up a
rough van for cheap ... $500, and use it as a basis for the "Phoenix" It
would be a better project, in my opinion, built on a V-gon chasis. And
if built on a Syncro ...... Wow, the possibilities are endless. Syncros
aren't the cheapest things in the wold, but if one were to find one with
the body ragged out, it could prol'ly be bought cheap enough. The syncro
could be rebuilt as the new body is being constructed.
