I'm about to set up a second battery in my van. I've seen everyone recommending Optima yellow-top batteries, and I'm wondering what their advantages are over other deep-cycle batteries. They are expensive - $160 at Advanced Auto Parts. Are all deep cycle batteries that expensive? I thought I'd seen someone mention getting one for $70.

If Optimas are definitely better, I'll get one - but I'd like to know why I'm doing it!
