When I was still too young to shave, I had a grand plan to buy up VW's
(Beetles), and store them in some sort of semi-clean environment.

The carcasses would be sorted as candidates for restoration, or donors for
restoration.

My restoration process would be semi-assembly line.  Strip to a bare shell,
repair all the holes and dents.   Install all new rubber, seals, seat covers
etc.  Rebuilt engines, gearbox, brakes.. the whole thing as new as possible.
Small crews that specialize in each area, working independent of each other.

Price them nearish a "new" car, and build them to order.  Colors, sunroofs,
etc.

But, who's gonna buy a 20 year old "new" car?  Assembling a
sales/distribution program would be tough.

Seeing the pricing on syncro campers, makes me think.
