What "doesn't pay" exactly? Imitating a successful product? Purchasing a product that serves the same function as another? Saving money by buying a cheaper product? I'm not trying to be facetious (or rude), I just don't understand what the wrong doing is.

My goal as a consumer is to buy the best product at the best price - it's the American way.
