I've had both and I've noticed a big difference. If you don't have big temperature swings where you live you don't know how aggravating a carburator can be. When it's -10F out, fuel doesn't want to vaporize in that cold carb. It condenses out as droplets in the manifold. The engine really doesn't want to run until it warms up. In some cases you end up adjusting the carb richer for winter and leaner for summer, necessitating two tune-ups a year.
