Subject: Billy Bones' never ending story
Content-type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii

Went to the shop this afternoon to find the tranny and starter repaired on Billy. Soon after we started the engine, it began to idle rough (mechanic said it was too lean, not too rich) and that my injectors needed to be ultrasonically cleaned. I talked to Leonard at AVP and he too believes it is the injectors. So, next week I'll change the injectors.

A bit later I bumped into another mechanic I know. He told me it was indeed running lean, but was probably a fuel pressure problem, either the fuel pump or the fuel pressure regulator, neither of which he had in stock.

Came home, replaced fuel pump and fuel pressure regulator off of my perfectly running GL.

Absolutely no change. The only components I have not switched out on this bus are the distributor and the fuel injectors. It's now almost 9pm and I've had enough.

Ole Warren is going to sit back, enjoy a well- earned scotch and water, and just take a little time to think things over. Billy can just sit in dry dock for awhile. It'll do him good.

Hope you all have a nice weekend.

Warren Lail 88 Westy "Billy Bones" 87 GL "Long John"
