I tried to replace the front wheel bearings on my '84 Westy today and ran
into a problem.  The inner bearings won't fit on the spindle (they are
.005 inch smaller than the spindle.  I figured I had the wrong bearings,
so I went to the local FLAPS and got another set (the first set came from
a list vendor, not the FLAPS).  They have the same problem!

Is '84 a transition year where they used two slightly different bearings?
Any other ideas?
