Back when my '73 Westy was still a driveway queen, my Beagle Murphy was still a puppy...

I had the front child's cot set up and the stool backed up just a tad... One day he figured out how to get up into the cot by way of the stool, the sink top, and into the cot...

From that day onward he had to go out into the bus at least once a day, he'd sleep in the cot for a couple hours then just lay there surveying the world thru the windshield. It got to where we would put him on a leash attached to an eyehook on the closet, leave the slider open, and he'd be out there all day.

When we got our '85 GL, he'd crawl under my feet into the drivers side footwell and go to sleep for the majority of the trip. As he got older his favorite place was on the middle seat hanging his head out the open side window.

I now have a small platform with a cushion there for him to ride on, as the middle seat has been removed.

He loves going with us to all the VW events, I think because of all the attention he gets from the 5 & under crowd <<G>>. He is just the right size, and doesn't scare the kids as some of the larger dogs do, and he loves giving kisses. Of course, the kids really have to watch out when they have ice cream, as he loves ice cream just as much.
