At long last action has been taken on the list sticker.
I had the VANAGON.COM list sticker graphic over to the shop today to
have it cleaned up and set up for cutting/printing.
I need to know the interest of the list in what type materials and what
colors. You must select between what is listed below. The purpose of
this survey is to get some idea as to which way to go. I would like to
have these available to the list within two weeks, so I need the
information in order to plan.
NO, I don't have prices just yet. I am waiting for the print/tint shop
to finish their quotes, but I need this information from the list so I
know how to proceed.
Material Choices:
*Vinyl Cutout* - the sticker would be cut from a solid, one color vinyl
by computer driven machine, and the sticker would be applied to the
outside of the glass using the "Stick on, then peel off the backing"
approach. The vinyl is a "5 year" vinyl, meaning it will stay put and
not fade for 5 years, all things being equal. Mine has been on my van 5
years al ready and shows a little dulling of the surface but no fade at
all, and no tendency to peel up either. It will take a razor blade to
remove it when the time comes. The advantage of vinyl cutout
applications is they are long term, and have no adverse effects on
interior paint or interior window tinting film. Dis-advangage- they
cannot be applied over window tinting, without tearing up the tint to
get them off.
*Electro-Static Sticker* - this type sticker is a standard print-shop
product. The design is spray painted (inked) onto a clear static-clean
vinyl that allows a "Peel and stick" application. It has no glue, and
while it adheres tightly, it can be peeled off and repositioned. Can
only be applied inside the vehicle. Disadvantages - big rectangular
piece of plastic backing stuck on the windshield. . Ugly!!
Colors:
These, for the moment, are the ONLY choices you have
Light Sky Blue
White
Yellow
*If you are interested in the stickers, create a new e-mail, and give
the subject line the name "List Sticker Survey"
*
Cut and paste the following into the body. Then type Y or N by each of
the following: as your choice.
Vinyl Cutout........!
Electro-Static.......!

Your Name...........................!
As soon as I have enough returns, I will post to the List the outcome
of the survey.
