Also, if the car has power locks.... cycle them a few times. I find that both my old '90 Carat and my '91 Carat both would hang up in a 'no-mans zone' in the winter. Cycling the power locks a few times usually straightened them out. BTW Chris - I'm in Lancaster now, so if you're ever cruising through pmail me.
Subject:Quick fix in many cases with the later rear hatch latches: Insert key, turn until key slot is vertical. Press key and latch in, turn key to horizontal. This is the remedy to unlock the latch when someone has carelessly locked it while depressing the latch. It's a slight design flaw.
