A 215/70-16 is almost 28" in diameter. For ultimate performance and a
slight gearing increase, I suggest 225/60-16. This is ~ 26.5 inch
diameter. An inch taller and 1.5 inch wider than stock. A matched spare
will not fit in the tire carrier. The load ratings of standard tires are
adequate and both Dunlop and Michelin offer this size in "Reinforced"
versions. This is the size used on current Eurovans. 215/65-16's are a
little taller (27") and slightly narrower than the 225's. With some
mods, it can be fitted into the spare tire carrier if left deflated. I
am currently using this size and I think it is the ideal compromise. The
225/60 will make the speedometer and odometer read correctly. The
215/65's make it under read by about 1.5%. I just bought a 2nd set of
the CV-900 wheels from Derek Drew, (derekdrew@RCN.COM). Except for the
finish being a little soft, I think these wheels are great and they look
cool.

David
okay say with 215/70R16 tires would there be any rubbing or clearance
issues? also with these tires what would be approximately the tightest
clearance area. from pictures i have seen it looks like the the
clearance
gets tight between the tire and the front of the rear trailing arm as
wheel/tire size is altered from the stock configuration. is this true
and
are there any other areas where clearances become quite a bit tighter.
