Not true, you need to turn the swivel base 180  degrees to get full
unobstructed access to the battery box to install the  battery.  To completely swivel
the base 180 degrees you need to remove the  seat as it will hit the steering
wheel and prevent you form turning it  completely.  To remove the seat from its
tracks you need to lift the slide  lock device on the left hand side of the
seat track.
