No alarm. In either of my cars, but I have detachable faceplates. No break-ins in 10 years (so cal). Knock knock.

I think a better way to go is just remove the faceplate. (I usually just slide it in the map pocket) Alarm or not, someone will take something in there they see that they want. When's the last time someone paid any attention to those annoying alarms? Probably 1992 or so.
