This is why I keep my Vanagon. First forget the O-ring. Take it apart clean, and use sylicone seal. Will never leak again. The rear blower almost never goes bad. Yours has obviuosly been abused. Did you have the cover on the entire unit? Take it apart and clean everything. Lube and you should be back in busness. If it is really dead, I have several working rear blower, you can have cheap. As for the hear core. You will have to spend money here. These are a known problem. http://importedcarparts.com/ is the best I've found price wise... Eric
