Hey Listees in the SF Area.


I was surfing through the local news tonight here in Rochester NY and they flashed on a blue VW Westy (guessing an 86).  Very nice metalic blue full camper with a side awning too. Of course it got my attention right away.

The van was found at a local campground (Hamlin Beach) on the shores of Lake Ontario near Rochester.

Dean Lewis has been missing since September.  His van is intact and was left in the parking area of the campground.

Police Probe Missing Person Case

43-year-old Dean LewisNew York State Police want your help in the search for a missing man last seen at Hamlin Beach State Park.
Police say 43-year-old Dean Lewis abandoned his Volkswagon van at the park in September. He hasn't been see since.

Lewis is from San Francisco. Hamlin was one of several state parks where he camped during a trip across New York.

Police say Lewis does a lot of travelling and often keeps to himself.

His parents and friends haven’t heard from him since last August.
Police say Lewis bought a handgun before he left San Francisco.
Anyone with information on his whereabouts should call police at 279-0144.
